Born in 1971 at Hyderabad-India, Taranjiet Singh Namdhari specialized in Direction and Editing during his Post Graduation Mass Communication studies at the University of Hyderabad. His Graduation Film “Nafs” won a Certificate of Merit at the Santa Fe, New Mexico International Film Festival in 1995

In 1995 he started his career as an Editor and Visual Effects Artist on the Henry and Avid with Western Outdoor Advertising, Mumbai, one of India’s leading Post Production facilities. He worked there between the years 1995-1998 and was involved in the Creative and Visual Styling for more than 500 Commercials and several Television Shows and Television Packaging

In 1997 he also started working on Visual Effects and Promotional Styling for Feature Films with Yash Raj Films “Dil to Pagal Hai” followed by Dharma Productions “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” in the subsequent year

In 1998 he Directed, Edited and Styled the Making of the Musical “Yeh Hai Prem” for Rajshri Music

In 1999 he joined Yash Raj Films as Assistant Director, Editor and Visual Effects Director in the Aditya Chopra Directed “Mohabbatein

He subsequently started working independently from the year 2001 and has Styled Promotional Campaigns for Television and Film for Ashok Mehta’s – “Moksh” and Target Films – “Dil Ka Rishta

In 2002 he Directed and Styled the launch look for the Marathi TV Channel – Tara Marathi


Subsequently in the same year he also Produced and Directed “Sarab Kala Samrath” A Documentary on the Life and times of His Holiness Satguru Jagjit Singh Ji. The documentary was also screened and awarded by the IDPA - Indian Documentary Producers Association, Mumbai in 2003. The documentary proved to be a turning point both professionally and spiritually

In 2004 he worked in Trimurti Films as Associate Director to Rajiv Rai on his film “Asambhav” as well as an Editor and Visual Effects Director

Soon after he styled the promotional campaigns for Television and Film for the Baz Taylor directed english feature “Take 3 Girls”

In 2006 he Edited and Directed an English language film It Could Be You, starring Naseeruddin Shah and Kirron Kher

In 2006 he also Produced and Directed “Roop Rab Da…” A Musical on the Life and times of His Holiness Satguru Jagjit Singh Ji

In 2008 he Produced and Directed "Atal Pratapi" A historical documentary on the Life and times of His Holiness Satguru Pratap Singh Ji

In 2010-11 he styled and directed the opening sequences of the popular TV Series "Khatron Ke Khiladi - Tiguna" featuring Priyanka Chopra, "Bigg Boss" featuring Salman Khan and "Zor Ka Jhatka" featuring Shahrukh Khan for Endemol India


In 2010 he also Edited and Directed "Dhoori Ais Dharti Di - Sri Bhaini Sahib" (We bow to thee Motherland) a historical travelogue documentary on Sri Bhaini Sahib, tracing its origin from 1857 to 2010. The travelogue was awarded by the Indian Documentary Producers Association with the GOLD for BEST EDITING ADVERTISING CORPORATE and the SILVER for the BEST CG-EFX FILM CORPORATE

In 2011 he Produced and Directed a short film “Smoking is injurious to health” as a part of the 48 Hour Film Competition - Mumbai 2011. The film won the BEST ACTOR AWARD MALE for the main lead at the competition

In 2012 he Produced and Directed a Musical Short - “The Royal Bengal Mystery” as a part of the Kala Ghoda Festival and the 48 Hour Music Video Project for the Vidya Balan starrer “KAHAANI”, Mumbai on a Music track composed by the versatile Vishal & Sekhar


In 2012 he Produced and Directed a short film “A Memorable Journey” as a part of the Mahindra XUV 5OO Memorable Stories Festival - Mumbai 2011. The film won the BEST FILM SECOND RUNNER UP at the competition

The year ended on a solemn note when his Inspiration and Spiritual Master HH Satguru Jagjit Singh Ji passed away on 13 December 2012. The following months of the year 2013 were spent reminiscing the great Master and as a tribute, a documentary - “HH Satguru Jagjit Singh  Ji - A Journey”, along with an english subtitled DVD “Sermons - HH Satguru Jagjit Singh Ji”.

In late 2013 he Produced and Directed a Web Comedy Series “Kholi No 420” for the YouTube Comedy Week. The series garnered over 70,000 hits on the YouTube network making it one of the most popular series during the week.

He also specializes in conducting various Digital Film Making Workshops from Concept to Delivery inclusive of Direction, Editing, VFX and Digital Intermediate delivery. Given this expertise he was invited by the Mumbai chapter of the 48 Hour Film Competition in 2011 to conduct a workshop on the Digital Realm and Cinema




He has also served as a jury member for the IDPA Awards for various categories inclusive of Short Films, Corporate and Advertising Films during the years of 2008-09

In 2014 he edited and directed the prestigious project ‘The Musical Diaries – Raag Ratnavali‘  where in 65 Indian Classical Music Video Diaries were created, tracing the history and the musical compositions of HH Satguru Jagjit Singh Ji and their legacy


He currently lives with his wife and son in Mumbai, India and works as a freelance Director - Editor - Vfx Director for various film and TV projects while continuing to helm the affairs as the Creative Director of his film production company KIK BUTT ENTERTAINMENT
